BMW Brake Repair

BMWs are known to be “the ultimate driving machine”.   But when your brakes aren’t performing it could cause further damage to your vehicle.

Your BMW Brakes should be inspected at least once a year by a certified German automotive mechanic.  Typically brake pads and rotors can last up to 50K miles depending on driving conditions and the model of your car.  For preventive care, you should have your brake fluid replaced yearly, in order to prevent any corrosion that could damage your brake system.  Typically performance cars, like BMW, have thinner brake pads which have a shorter life span than most.  Driving conditions and driving habits (city versus highway) also play a part in the wear of your brake system.

Warning Signs

Stay ahead of brake problems, and know the warning signs in order to prevent further damage to your vehicle.  Often times it’s difficult for BMW owners to diagnose the problem without consulting with a trained Audi technician.  When you experience one of the following, you should have your brakes serviced immediately.

• Brakes feel soft or spongy when you push down on the brake pedal
• Any type of unusual sound created when you brake.  A grinding or squealing sound usually indicates that your brake pads are worn out and need to be replaced immediately.
• Warning Light.  BMW brake technology will typically alert you when your brakes should be serviced.
